In this edition of iFormulate Revisited, we are showing the presentation given at the 5th Ag Formulation & Application Technology Congress (FAT 2024) in November 2024 by Dr David Calvert of iFormulate Ltd. Thank you to organisers for the chance to present once again at this congress.
The Congress attracted over 300 attendees, coming from countries such as Belgium, USA, UK, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia and Netherlands. Delegates participated in exchanges and discussions regarding advanced formulation, adjuvant and application technologies, market dynamics and regulatory updates, as well as future development trends.
Formulation has many definitions and one of those commonly cited is that of being an enabling technology. In the field of agrochemicals, there are many emerging challenges and opportunities where formulation is a key enabler. From the emerging technologies under the umbrella of “Precision/Digital Agriculture” to the issues around microplastics, to the ever increasing use of biocontrol products, formulation is key to enabling the effective implementation. In this presentation, we expand upon these challenges and opportunities and provide examples of where formulation science plays an important role.
