Laura Forfar is a consultant at Paul Murray Catalysis Consulting Ltd (PMCC) where she provides support for experimental design (DoE) projects and training courses. She completed a degree in chemistry at the University of Bristol and stayed to complete a PhD with Dr Chris Russell. On completion of her PhD, Laura joined PhosphonicS Ltd as a scientist where she worked to develop new products and deliver clients projects. Laura Joined PMCC Ltd in 2016.
She helps with the delivery of training courses in experimental design and uses DoE to help clients from a variety of chemical industries with problematic chemical transformations.
Overview of DoE presentation
The presentation will contain an introduction to DoE, giving an overview of the benefits over traditional methods. The different design types will be briefly discussed with their advantages and limitations. The use of appropriate designs for different applications and stages of development will be covered including mixture designs for formulation. The importance of factor selection and the selection of appropriate responses will be discussed.
